Healthy Families Hutt Valley and Upper Hutt City Council are excited to work alongside each other to ensure positive systems change is driven across the whole of the Hutt Valley.

Both organisations share a vision of more equitable and sustainable communities and by combining their expertise, resources and networks, they will be able to create a long-term impact on the communities they serve.

At the heart of this partnership is a shared vision where every community has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. With Upper Hutt City Council’s expertise in community development and Healthy Families Hutt Valley’s extensive knowledge in systems change, the partnership is well-positioned to support people to create thriving neighbourhoods where everyone leads a healthy and happy life.

Eddie Edmonds, Healthy Families Hutt Valley Manager says that the partnership with Upper Hutt City Council will be transformative.

“We haven’t been as present or engaged in the Upper Hutt area as much as we would’ve liked to in the past. When we refer to the ‘Hutt Valley’, it includes both of the Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt communities – working alongside Upper City Council will allow us to boost the collective effort across the whole of the Hutt Valley to support people to create healthier communities where we live, learn, work and play.”

Upper Hutt City Council Chief Executive, Peter Kelly is also looking forward to collaborating with Healthy Families Hutt Valley.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Healthy Families initiative! We’re pulling away from working in silos and uniting as one to enhance the wellbeing of our communities on a broader scale. Working together, we are confident that we will make a significant and positive impact in Upper Hutt too.”
