Create change at my Place of Worship

When we come together as a faith community we have the opportunity to support and inspire each other. By choosing to make healthy changes we’re also supporting the wellbeing of the whole community.

Here are some actions you can take to nurture the wellbeing of your faith community:

  • Create healthier food practices and policies – find resources and guidelines at Good Food Kai Pai
  • Expand your smokefree and vapefree environments – get resources at smokefree.org.nz 
  • Grow your own healthy kai – view this useful video about building your own māra kai
  • Become pro water – make sure you have drinking water easily available instead of sugary drinks 
  • Support volunteer wellbeing – tips and hints of how to build a healthy organisation
  • Encourage being active  – promote walking and cycling to services and plan active events that everyone can take part in
